Indian PM Modi to inaugurate Asia’s largest 750-MW Rewa solar plant

  • The project compromises three solar generating units of 250 MW each
  • As stated by the PM, this project exempifies the country’s commitment to ataining the target gigawatt of installed renewables by the year 2022. incluidng 100 GW of solar.
  • The solar park was developed by RUMSL ( Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd), a JV of Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd and Solar Energy Corporation of India.
  • Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will get 24% of energy from the project, with the remaining 76% being supplied to the State DISCOMs of Madhya Pradesh.
  • The project would avoid 1 500 000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year.
  • The Rewa solar power project was commissioned with Rs 43 050 000 000 investment.
